My Mother loved butterflies. She loved their large, brightly colored wings, and conspicuous, fluttering flight. Her favorite was the Monarch, which is the only butterfly that migrates both North and South as the birds do on a regular basis. The length of these journeys exceeds the normal lifespan of most Monarchs. No single individual makes the entire round trip. Female monarchs deposit eggs for the next generation to carry on the journey.
My Mom's life taught me to laugh, love and to liberate myself from suppressors of my happiness. Her death taught me to treasure every moment with those that I love. And, my pictures of her are my most valued possessions.
My passion for photography began with developing prints in my high school's darkroom. A photograph takes a moment and holds it still forever. It conveys not just how life looks, but also how it feels and breathes. I'm elated behind the camera and even more so when I see the resulting images. Photography is an expression of my soul. My images reflect how I see and interpret the world. Photography allows me to completely immerse myself in the moment and all of it's bliss, playfulness, sorrow and everything in between. Taking pictures makes me feel more alive.
I photograph stories. Whether it be the experience of the day, the vibe of the party, the spirit of the wedding, the precociousness of a child, the laughter you share with your partner or even the slobbery kisses of your four legged friends.
I am my Mother's daughter. My husband's grateful wife. And, my son's most humble and proud Mother. It would be an honor to be invited into your story and the stories of those that you love. Together we can create images that you and your family can treasure for many generations. Together we can document your journey and tell your story.
Peace and happiness,
